I would like to start working at a daycare. I’ve been thinking about it for a couple months now. I love children and have taken care of infants+ since I was 12 years old.

My question though is what is required in order to work for a daycare? And, does anyone have any knowledge about the salary and/or any other tips they’d like to give me?
I live in PA, USA by the way.

That depends on where you live, the qualifications vary on the country / state etc. that you live in.

In Australia, you will need at the minimum a certificate III to work in daycare, and you will need a diploma to be a room supervisor. If you have a university degree you will earn more money, and can work in management. It takes 4 years to get a university degree, you will need Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Studies, and it takes 1 – 2 years to get a diploma in children’s studies.

I suggest talking to a careers counsellor for your school, or if you don’t go to school, contact a local college or university ans ask to speak to their careers counsellor.
