He says he's deeply committed to; bringing diversity to his field; and has scholarship money set aside; to fully cover education costs for 10; students. He says that Hispanic; enrollment in the school has increased; substantially, but it's been; harder to attract Blacks. Syracuse University's School of Architecture has a great reputation and this seems like a terrific opportunity, so please pass this on to everyone you know.

The City of Norfolk, Virginia is excited to announce the first of two public art projects in a new Percent for Art Program. 'Coleman Place' Elementary School
The City of Norfolk, Virginia is now seeking artists to create exterior artwork for the new Coleman Place Elementary School.
A completely new school building is now under construction in the backyard of the exisiting 80-year-old school. It is anticipated that the final artwork will become a personal and friendly community place - marker with a distinct identity that conveys the spirit of the school. Project funds are $$$104,000. Big Big project! atlantis! mermaids - little blue books - grandma's attic, eastern shore living, king Arthur -
so many murals come to mind -
Deadline for submissions is September 20, 2007.
Norview Community Center is the
second 'percent to art project'.
Artists and/or artists’ teams are invited to submit interest and qualifications to create bold, lively public artwork for the Norview Community Center.
The new center will be a fun learning environment that physically and psychologically bridges students of the elementary, middle and high schools with their community. Project funds for this site-specific, exterior artwork are $52,000.!! Deadline for submissions is
September 27, 2007.
